Process Magazine

Geoff McFetridge is one of my favorite artists and illustrators with a background in graphic design. His work has been a significant influence to my own in that it evokes universal feelings and emotions. His dynamic and aesthetically pleasing compositions along with human subjects allow his work to connect with so many of us. When given the opportunity to design a magazine layout on McFetridge’s design process, it felt fitting to incorporate many different samples of his work. It was important for me to allow the flow of his work to dictate the layout. That being said, I encountered some challenges when it came to working with color. McFetridge’s work is very colorful and vibrant to begin with so as a solution to this issue I pulled my colors from his work to complement it rather than overpowering it.
